Of Snow-covered Mountains and Milk Chocolates

I tend to dream quite often. Most of my dreams are about the places that make me feel like they exist only in my dreams. It’s only recently after my trip to Switzerland that I realized that those paradise like places I dream of, resemble Switzerland to a great extent.

I landed in Zurich at the very start of my journey. I decided to explore the city by walking around the streets in the morning, with people in suits as well as locals and tourists in pleasant mood commuting, or calmly exploring stores and streetside cafes. By noon, I decide to hop up on the tram and covered some famous architectural monuments of the city, the marvelousness of which was incomparable. Be it the St. Peter's Church, or the Grossmünster, the history attached to them, and the exquisite architecture of those places were all extraordinary. I also took a ferry ride amid the lake watching the soothing sunset and the lights of the city coming to life, making the entire view like a painting, with multiple colors of dusk in the skies, and the glittering lights of the city.

The next day, I traveled to the topmost point of Europe, Mount Jungfrau. The 3- hour journey to Jungfrau was filled with picturesque landscapes, and breathtaking sceneries full of lush green fields, and snowy mountains at distance.

I also stopped by the city of Interlaken, which literally lies between 2 lakes. With lively vibes and pleasant breezes, with flower gardens, and pretty cafes, as well as the breathtaking vistas of the mountains, the visit to the city of Interlaken was a very delightful experience. As soon as I reached Jungfrau, it took me a while to consume the beauty of the place. I found myself standing amid the white mountains, while snow crunched under my feet, and my sight wandering in all directions trying to capture as much beauty as it can. I stood there in solace and kept questioning myself if that place was for real, or was I dreaming. Nothing but people in bright-colored jackets giggling and fiddling, taking photographs, and celebrating the moment. Heaven felt closer to that place, after all, I was standing at around 11,000 ft. above sea level. But pondering about the breathtaking aura of the place, I wonder if I was in heaven only. There were many other extraordinary attractions there, including the Ice Palace.

My next stop was Mount Titlis, where I opted for the fully rotating cable car which allow me to have the majestic view of the wonderland that place was. I was so astounded by the place before reaching Mount Titlis, and what I saw after reaching the top, amid the fog and mist, was indeed God’s abode. The place was magical, it felt like it was filled with melodious symphonies and purest winds.

The next morning, I woke up in the radiant atmosphere of the city of Lucerne. The city, with its medieval architecture, took me back in time. While walking over the Chapel bridge, with stories imprinted on its ceiling, and while wandering through the cobblestone streets of Old Town, I was transported to the world of the 16th century with all the elements of that time surrounding me. Not only the architecture but also the city’s geographical establishment, sitting amid the snowy mountains and Lake Lucerne! Lucerne is a masterpiece that cannot be admired enough. I took a river cruise ride for getting a fantastic perspective of the city on one side, in all its glory, and the Mountains standing magnificently on the other side.

With the natural landscapes, the mix of vibrant and well-kept historic architecture, with the tales of history in my mind, that cruise ride turned out to be the best possible end to my trip to that dreamy place of Switzerland, with enchantment and beauty wherever the eyes go. I was in a trance about the Swiss Mountains and cities, and the lives there, for a long after the trip was over.
